Change air filter

I have a 99 GMC 4.3 with 60k miles on it. The air filter is the origional. I have vacumed it out a few times. The wife thinks I am doing the house.
The air filter gizmo has not shown itself to be changed. I do about 70% city and 25% highway driving. Filter looks clean but I am now doing more highway driving and believe that with more air required I think I should change the filter.
Any ideas?

If you got 60K out of the first one, should say AC delco on it and MIGHT be grey. Then go ahead and spend the, what $10, on a new one.

I agree with marlin. I would change it out with a quality paper filter for $10-15 . I would change it annually from here on out. Or you could go the oiled filter (like k&N) and recharge it every year or every other year.

Thanks. I'll be changing it soon. Yea the pletes
are starting to go grey. Milage is probably down a little to.
