Yes, bypass valve design was also discussed in your thread. Looks like the center of the end cap (which is exposed to the delta-p through the large hole in the spring plate that covers the 6 holes) is what flexes or "clicks" to open up a flow path to those 6 holes when the delta-p is reached.

Pretty sure that is the same spring(minus the bypass) that's on the ACDelco Classic non-ecore filters that have the bypass in the block. I think that's what you are talking about.

Oh nice with the Sculpin, do you like it with the habanero in it? I want to try a Sculpin beer soon since they have great ratings. I'm just finishing a 24 ounce Honey Brown which was only .99 at the BP station. Also picked some honey peanuts.

BigD1: yaeah, that's what I meant

SatunSilver: I haven't had Honey Brown in a long time, and I really enjoy a cold Genny Cream Ale

Yep, saw one posted here not too long ago but didn't remember which exact Champ made filter it was, AC Delco Classic sounds right. Instead of six holes, has Champ type dome bypass in the endcap.

And Zee, just eyeballing it I didn't completely understand how it could work, but I'm sure your explanation is correct. Unique for sure.

Ok I'll say it - That thing looks shagged...

Assuming the 03/04 (or is it 7)/16 is the date installed and using round numbers 24 month old car by 45000mi = 1875mi/month so what ~ 7500mi?

It is hard to bust on it too bad not knowing the exact deal, but it is well past prime...

March 4, 2016 and yup, no idea how many miles it had on it. I'll take it over a dreaded Puro jobber. Just no faith in that "company" anymore. I actually think my TG-3614 off my Focus looked same but that's me. DuckRyder: you're right, hard to jump on condition of it as it did the job
