Gents,

In my package of MicroGreen filters, they stuffed a single sheet for CermaLube oil.

They gave a website, www.CermaLube.com with information about their oil.

As far as I can tell, the key to their oil is nano Silicon Carbide (SiC) and they make a whole bunch of crazy claims (Increased Horsepower, Compression, Torque, Fuel Economy, Reduced Toxic Emissions, Carbon Deposits, Engine Vibration & Noise, Decreased Engine Wear).

Now, my first reaction is to think "Snake Oil," and recycle the flyer. But, I know that Liqui Moly sells Ceratec, which is nano Hexagonal Boron Nitride.

Might this be legit, or should I trust my Snake Oil detector?

(If it's snake oil, then, in my opinion, it undermines the MicroGreen filter story.)

What say y'all?

Oh, by the way: I don't have a dog in this fight. I have no vested interest in CermaLube, and please, PLEASE don't think that I am advocating this oil.

If it really did all that, every engine manufacturer would spec that oil and it would be their OEM oil. Imagine the what it would do for emissions compliance for new engines!

There's just a wee bit of difference between an international company like Liqui Moly and a guy with a website rife with grammar and punctuation errors. But you can contact him with his SBCGlobal email address!

Mobil 1, Valvoline and Castrol remain my mainstays.

Go for it and report back how it seems to help, please and thank you

Indeed, Liqui Moly isn't a garage shop. But, my point was: Maybe there's some similarity between nano Silicon Carbide, and nano Hexagonal Boron Nitride.

I'm very happy with the filters, but I see your point.
