The lightning simply has poor charge performance.
Shel around most parts of the snow belt they cant even repair the pot holes and bridges because of lack of funds, the country has almost 32 TRILLION in debt, where in pray tell is the money coming from? That's the same old bu11$h1t meme thats been repeated here ad nauseum. The production and distribution of electricity will come in time.
Look how far we've come in just a few years, look at what's being tried and improved. Maybe not fast enough or thorough enough for some, but progress typically runs slowly and is often plagued with setbacks.
People are criticizing ford's inductive roadway. It's certainly not ready for prime time. But it's another building block for the future. The future always comes just as the past is often left behind.
I don't disagree with what you've said. The debt is insane, and we really have to straighten up our own house. However, I believe it can be done, however, I'm not sure it will be done. I would love to see this country back on a solid financial footing.Shel around most parts of the snow belt they cant even repair the pot holes and bridges because of lack of funds, the country has almost 32 TRILLION in debt, where in pray tell is the money coming from?
IMO until they get this debt under control, stop wasting money on everything from foreign wars, all sorts of crack pot schemes none of this green new deal should even get 10c, time to put the brakes on and save some cash.
There is nothing stupid about applying for patents so you can sue anything remotely close to it. Whether they really build it is another story. These people need a reality check. Fords latest brainstorm, is crazy, in many areas of the US the grid and the roads are in worse condition than sub Saharan Africa yet they want this. Where is the money and electricity coming from for these hair brained schemes?

Tesla is build on startup money, when the company was from ground up, with no legacy business. You can take high risk and high return with low interest. How did Tesla do it? Seems to me that there's already a template for a network, or am I missing something?
If anyone willing to build that, it wouldn't be in the US. Either somewhere in Europe (Norway?), or China with their central planning and high density road (dedicated EV and bus lane?).That's the same old bu11$h1t meme thats been repeated here ad nauseum. Shel, not fully sure of your holistic thoughts on your post. But I will say, in the US in can be done. All that is needed is to remove regulations and constraints put in place by government. And remove barriers to entry. Finally, remove incentives not to work.I don't disagree with what you've said. The debt is insane, and we really have to straighten up our own house. Tsla and ford are in completely different businesses. TSLA is in the reoccurring revenue and subscription business. Ford is in the car and truck manufacturing business. TSLA is simply using electric vehicles, many produced by TSLA, to generate reoccurring revenue and subscriptions. TSLA 's center of gravity is not vehicle manufacturering, not even close. tSLA simply manufacturers evs as a ways to achieve critical mass for their business model of reoccurring revenue and subscriptions.Tesla is build on startup money, when the company was from ground up, with no legacy business. Ford and other legacy companies have legacy businesses, they cannot just say "trust me bro I am using this money to build a new business and it will go big or go home without dragging my legacy business into it". On the plus side you know they have a legacy business to leverage on and you know they won't go out of business, like Fisker, if their cars don't sell. On the minus side you can't get a Tesla from them, they will definitely leverage some old stuff from their gas cars.
Tesla is a tech company. Agreed, software subscriptions offer great promise. Right now, they are making big money on their EV business while the big guys loose billion$ every quarter. Beyond that, Tesla has products in development we may not even heard of. Tesla is hardball while everyone else is trying to figure out what went wrong.Tsla and ford are in completely different businesses. TSLA is in the reoccurring revenue and subscription business.
