I recently had to go from ATT to Cingular bc I lost my ancient ATT phone. I used to get Roaming Charges in WV. -where my daughter lives (Its located in U.S. Cellular territory.) I can't seem to get a definitive answer as to whether I will pay roaming and call fees now.

My plan says "no roaming charges in the U.S." , but the area where U.S. Cellular is is marked "No Service" on Cingular Map. Any thoughts??

you wont get a signal... due to u.s cellular's insane roaming charges they charge cingular...

that, or the map is just where cingular's cell towers reach and anywhere else you get a signal will be roaming, free of course. had cingular for 4 years... customer service blows but the cell service is good.

Well there is a signal there for sure. I paid 12 bucks 2 months ago for 6 short calls when I was with ATT (bought by Cingular)

But your ancient ATT phone probably used the TDMA network, while the new Cingular phone uses the GSM network.
