Interesting discussion. I agree that talking heads of any ilk are difficult for a thinking person to abide.
My problem with this whole story is that "W" and the GOP have gone after "K"'s military COMBAT record. The Dems, rightly so have attempted to counter with the FACT that "W" slimed out of his service once sent to Flight School. As a veteran it torques me off to see a COMBAT veteran get dissed by folks who avoided SE Asia fighting. I respect Kerry for that and it says lots about him.
I do respect anyone who flew F102/106 aircraft but to go UA or AWOL in a guard unit is odd and uncomfortable to my nearly 10 years of service, some of which put me in harms way. I would have been arrested if I had decided not to show up for multiple Mideast trips when I served.
Cheney is another who's hawkish stand and job as attack dog doesn't set well with me when he was busy learning geology. The ACTION of men speaks more loudly to me than rhetoric.
