Castrol Transmax Dex/Merc

Just wanted to share some info. I recently did a flush/filter change on my 03 silverado 1500. It had about 85K miles at the time. Got some Castrol Dex/Merc at Walmart and I have to say I am impressed. The truck shifts much smoother and at times you wouldnt even know it shifted. Got the gallon jugs for about 17$ a pop

That's only because it's about to self-destruct. You didn't use GM-branded ATF! The end is near!

Oh, wait. Nevermind. I'm glad to hear it worked out for you. I liked the Transmax Import. They seem to make a good ATF.

Truth be told, just changing the fluid will improve shifting alot in most cases.

It's a good quality conventional Dexron III/Mercon, just not licensed anymore. Pennzoil makes a similar DEX/Mercon product.
You could also use Mercon V which is a newer, more robust formula that also works well in DexIII applications.
