I was changing engine oil & filter for 2005 Acura TL last weekends.
I never tried Castrol Syntec before (although I tried GTX and GTX HM many times), I wanted to try it this time, so I bought a 5Qt jug.
When I was filling the new oil, it smelled similar (but weaker) to Motul 300V (supposed to be ester based) that is in my Evolution now! Smell won't say much about the oil's performance, but this oil contains some ester?
I don't want to argue which oil is better here, but it did not feel bad to have oil with some (maybe) ester at good price. I think I will try 5W30 in my g/f's TSX soon.
