Has anybody see the Castrol Syntec 5w-40

It said it is Made in Belgium or Berlin, somewhere over there.

Just wondering if it is anything like the GC 0w-30

Well I saw it at my local parts store, was wondering since it was made in Europe, if it was as good as the GC is reported to be

It would be hard to say without a UOA of both oils in the same vehicle, under the same operating conditions, etc.

What vehicle and type is the important factor. Both are "good", just depends on the application.

4xjunkie.I'm using Castrol 5w40 in my
BMW. It is now available in Canada at
the same price as the other syntec oils.
It is made in Belgium specially formulated
to meet the needs of: BMW, Mercedes-Benz
and Volkswagen. This oil is specifically
engineered to meet the Volkswagen engine
warranty requirements of 502 00, 505 00,
MB 229.3, MB 229.1, BMW LL-98 and Porsche.
It meets the European ACEA: A3/B3/B4 specs.
It may not be like the PAO GC 0w30 but just
as good GRP III/IV oil available with an
excellant additive package.
