I'm not saying that Castrol has no components that are "attracted to metal", only that I do not find any significant amounts of ester. Castrol is in the fish bowl and their competitors watch each other closely with their fingers on the legal trigger. It would be somewhat foolish for them to make a performance claim that they cannot support, at least to some degree. My inclination is to give them the benefit of the doubt, but tempered by my suspicion of vague and non-specific marketing claims.

In UK "UMA" is an ester but perhaps only a few %,

True but if you admit that Syntec Blend gives all the benefits of Start Up and ten some it does not then it should be priced between GTX and Blend if not your STUPID. Cause you by rights should never sell it. Would be like offering 91 and 94 octane at the pump and selling them at the same price. Both goto the heart of a market segment but why not get 94 if you get it for the same price???

2-liter coke is often cheaper than the 16 oz size... Does that mean that they should never sell the 16 oz size?

Marketing is very complicated - not always logical or even smart, just complicated.
