Does anyone know if Castrol GTX HM have any synthetic in it like Maxlife does? Would you consider Castrol High Mileage to be an oil you would drive 4-5k miles? I ask because many feel confident about higher OCI's with Maxlife..but didn't say as much about Castrol.

I used to use 5w30 GTX HM for 5 kmiles in my Maxima in heavy city traffic (90% city, may even more). Got excellent result, MUCH better then for Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 for the same 5 kmiles.

There's a chance that it could, but no one thus so far has been able to pin Castrol down to sayng one way or the other.

Yeah, I've noticed..It sort of goes to show that Valvoline MaxLife is favored more highly.

I do not consider 4-5K miles to be a higher OCI. Any Castrol product is likely able to go that far, whatever the formulation.
