I did a partial flush of the wife's car ('05 Subaru Legacy, 4 speed auto) several months ago, and used Castrol Multi-Vehicle ATF. I used it since it said it was compatible with Dexron III and Nissan Matic-J, which is what her car is happy with. I was surprised to find that now they have the import and domestic varieties, because I put it an ATF cooler this weekend, and changed the filter and fluid while I was at it. I'm guessing the import and the older stuff are not significantly different since they both meet Dex III and Matic-J, but should they mix OK?

Current Import-MV is the same as the older stuff so it will mix well.
The domestic-MV is what is used for dex/merc applications. Domestic-mv labelling is by far the worst that I've seen. They should get rid of the 'M V' part of it.

Use the import multivehicle fluid.
