Castrol Edge vs. Syntec?

Is Castrol Edge considered a grade IV synthetic oil? What is the big difference between Edge and Syntec? I have always run Syntec and I was thinking of trying Edge.

Ive never figured out the purpose of "Edge."

Kind of liek when they had "GTX Start-Up"... completely different Castrol oil, yes, but not sure why it was ever produced.

Marketing, i guess.

And Marketing works. Just look at Pennzoil Ultra! If i bought a Corvette that DIDNT use Mobil 1 (for soem reason) id HAVE to have it... Otherwise.. depends...

First off, there's no oil out there that is 100% Group IV because an oil like that would have problems.

Syntec (except GC) uses almost to no Group IV

EDGE does use group IV but we don't know in what amount.
