Castrol Edge Professional 5w30

I stumbled upon some Castrol Edge Professional 5w30. At first glance I thought it was extended performance and was happy with the price of 3.49 a quart. I purchased the 12 quarts they had available but noticed that it was not the extended performance but "Professional". I purchased them anyway as I am always looking for synthetics at a good price. Just looking for info on this oil as it appears to meet a lot of specs. Gasoline and Diesel engines.

Appears to be an OEM packaging of Edge available only at dealers (VW dealers) and one Amazon seller. Full synthetic with lots of certs but not all VW diesels. I would use it with confidence in a gas or diesel where it meets specs.

At 3.49/qt that's a pretty good deal for a brand name full syn.

I have been researching and it looks like there are a few different variations of the edge professional oils. The one that I have appears to be specific for land rover, but they have specific ones for bmw, jaguar, vw, and audi. I don't know what the differences are but I was just surprised at the cost of 3.49 cause right next to them were conventional peak 5w30, chevron supreme 5w30 and one called Valero 5w20 ranging from 2.99-5.99 a quart.

I will definitely use this oil and feel great at the price I paid. My curiosity just got the better of me and I am thinking that I may try to educate myself on what all the numbers means when it comes to comparing oils as I have no clue.
