Castrol Edge in 05 Cobalt

My Grandmas Cobalt is due for an oil change. In the past I've always ran Mobil 1 Extended Performance but Advance Auto Parts has a special 5 quarts of Castrol Edge and an oil filter for $25, anyone see a problem with this?

EDGE is great as long as your oil doesn't have to be super thick =)

I use it in my families Toyota's and they are running and starting great in the Winter here with the 5w30.

Castrol "Edge" is a good product for long OCI's so if you decide to go that route you'll know the additive package will keep you safe for that distance. I'd use it in a heart beat. I'm usually a M1 fan myself though.

No problem at all! I'm really liking the Edge in my car right now, it's very quiet and smooth. It could just be a placebo effect but it seems more quiet than the Castrol Syntec Blend I ran prior.

Been using it in my Cobalt now plus other vehicles. Good used oil analysis etc. Use it don't sweat it.

The ecotec motors in the Cobalts aren't picky on oil. Castrol Edge should work well in it. After the factory fill, I used pennzoil platinum and the motor seems to be pleased. I might give Edge a try for a future oil change.
