I hit 3 Home Depots on way from work. The worst is 5 minutes off normal drive. All showed clearance stock but none there. I scanned the upper boxes as best I could. Probably best that way anyway.
Castrol Edge and some GTX at Home Depot

Hit up five different Home Depots on the way home from work and scored in 4 of them. Decent mix of Castrol GTX 10W-30 and 10W-40. Found a couple of Castrol EDGE High Mileage 5W-30 jugs and a couple loose Pennzoil 10W-40 jug/bottle.
What I noticed in a couple of stores is that they had items not marked with yellow clearance tags and also showing zero stock for a particular store but the items were there anyways and would scan full price on the HD app on my phone but say not in stock. Had to go to a self checkout to verify they scan at the clearance price.
That comes out to 94 quarts total for $57 total cost. That is about 60 cents a quart. They are also starting the reset with Mobil and Quaker State taking over the spots on the shelf.

What about the HD website with your zip code ?
Yep that works no problem. Set your store, search for motor oil. Look for clearance
HD website showed incorrect stock for the 2 stores I went to. Website said there was a bunch available at each, and found bare shelves.
Yeah I ran into that issue last night and my dad did this weekend by him. The stores were cleared out pretty quick, getting close to a week ago.
I used to chase these things when brickseek was in its infancy and worked well.
Even then hit rate was maybe 25-33%
Did get some 70% off weber grills etc back in the day.
Now so many people and wrong inventories.. I'd only look if I was already going to be there..

Ya clearance Home Depot makes it hard you have to go to the store. All the others AAP AZ Lowe’s and other you can buy online and if they can fill it then you go get it.
