Castrol dino?

Might just be me, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as Valvoline Conventional, Mobil Super 5000, Pennzoil Conventional, Quaker State Conventional etc.

Their true synthetics made in Belgium seem to be highly regarded for European applications.. and the AZ $1 synblend is pretty popular is well, but that's about all I see.

Are their additive packages lacking??

For the money, you get a higher TBN and more additives with the Pennzoil conventional..which is why it gets much praise.

For some reason, in this area it is ridiculously priced. Like $4.59/qt for GTX.

I used to run it in my I35. It performed fine despite the VQ35's rep of being an oil shearer.

At least locally, it appears to be the priciest conventional at Walmart too.

Here right now at Walmart,all of the Castrol oils are the cheapest,on rollback.

My BIL loves Castrol GTX. I don't care for it, since it isn't any cheaper than others most of the times.

I agree as well. The stores have no problem selling Castrol GTX conventional motor oil in my neck of the woods, as well as in other places I have lived. I used it exclusively for many years in one of my previous cars (for the lifetime of the car). It's a great motor oil just like many others out there.
