Castrol 0w-30 & 0w-40

0W30? The US is still -60 or 57, cannot remember exactly.
US was updated in April.

New bottle has new formula code on it. Probably not on shelves yet considering we just started seeing the orange labeled SFU LL01-FE bottle. I have a feeling this new formula might have a similar additive pack to the SP 0W-40.

Why exactly do we like the 0W-30 of this so much? Are we saying this is PAO / Full SAPS like German Castrol?
It is seriously shear stable for such grade.
Then there is nostalgia part from time when it was green, and only 30 grade with Porsche A40 approval. That was time when it had HTHS 3.65 and kettjenlube additives developed by Kyocera.
IMO, still best Euro oil.

I want that base oil but with the Infineum Euro SP add pack. I assume this will never happen because the Infineum pack is probably pre-approved only with majority Group III/III+ bases.

Which is mostly relevant if your vehicle has an issue with shearing of the VM. The only vehicle I’ve owned that had an issue with this is my old Sienna, likely due to the gear driven camshafts.
