Carshield

From what I have heard they don’t payout. They do pay for some small stuff, but deny the engines and transmissions. They must have some ambiguous written warranty contract that gives them an out. I myself would sock the money you pay for this questionable company, and use it if you have problems. Something tells me you will be glad you did not sign that contract.

aren't they being sued? I thought I heard that.. hmm.. when I have more time I should research that, or you could google "lawsuit carshield" might see some details on lawsuits. But no I think they're a scam.. Most warranties that are good are the OEM extended ones.

Not very good. The only decent/good extended warranty is Fidelity Platinum, and really only worth it for incredibly luxury cars or a low mileage vehicle <2 years old. Can be purchased from Steingold Volvo. The platinum plan is a exclusionary plan, where only things that aren't included are listed, and everything else is. This is in comparison to the normal exclusionary policy.

I see their ads on TV every day . They haven't gone anywhere .
Ice Tea and Danica Patrick are still doing those ridiculous commercials.

Most people would be better off taking whatever the cost of their warranty coverage would be and then investing it in something safe. Then if you need a repair, draw from that, and if you don’t then you can just watch the money keep growing. The odds are always in your favor here, as these warranty companies pay out a lot less money than they take in.

When the famous advertising representative of these these auto warranty companies say,
"You'll never pay out-of-pocket for another repair" it is simply not true. You're going to pay your deductible and the difference of $$$ that the warranty company won't pay to the repair shop.
Maybe someone, somewhere(you may know someone) has had a better experience with these warranty companies but too many policy holders just don't have this kind of success.

Watch the video above that I linked.

Watching those ads with some of the scare tactics remind me much of disreputable mechanics warning you about imminent death if you don't change your recently serviced brakes. Either way, I have a dim view of that.

You are best off going with the manufacturer's extended warranty. Sometimes you have up to a year after buying new to decide, though the price goes up.

FCA’s MaxCare Lifetime warranties were fantastic if you intended to keep the vehicle a long time. So good, that they are no longer offered. Service manager told me they’ve replaced engines with 200K on them for the $100 deductible.

I have a lifetime on my ‘14 JGC with 93K on it. It’s paid for itself and will be all gravy until a repair costs more than the vehicle is worth.

The TV ads where Ice-T tells a customer to "shut up"?

The ads say "go to any mechanic" then the fine print reads "most mechanics accept us, but some do not."

Like said above, pay yourself.

Yeah what to people think when they hear that? "Never pay out of pocket" Ha ha ha, and then the annual dues is free then. :ROFLMAO:

How much do they charge per year for that, "never pay out of pocket for repairs" policy?
I would think 3K or more?

Yeah sock that 3K in a bank account, at the end of 5 years, you'd have a decent amount for a replacement car almost.
