Hey folks, could you share your experience with carquest premium oil filters?
I'm thinking of buying one as a part of combo from AAP (carquest premium 85334)
I saw a R85334 cut open by 53 Stude and it was not impressing at all

If you can get a WIx/Affinia or Fram one, they're not bad-but the Purolator ones are like everything else they build, not worth it. For example, for the GMC 6.2 in my sig (or most other older small block Chevy engines) AAP lists both the 85060 Purolator CQ Blue, and the superior Fram/Champ 85061 CQ Blue (which has the same media as a Mobil 1 filter).

That combo worked well for me. I'm not one who can normally distinguish between oils but the Carquest Synthetic oil and Premium Filter combo was exceptionally smooth. I would have no problem using it again...and might. Just make sure they give you the Premium filter since the first filter the employee brought out for me (they keep them behind the counter here) was the normal one. Not that it matters for operational purposes, i'm sure.

I only order online to get my points and all kind of extra discounts, and always get the freshest stock from their warehouse. As much as I love AAP I hate carquest store next to me - the staff is uneducated and rude, even a single return they turn into drama
