in service for one week, changed due to being able to fit a PH8a sized filter whereas i thought id only be able to fit the PH16 size

a carquest premium 85515 and a half quart of Honda DW-1 went back on. both carquest filters are made in china premium guards with silicone gaskets.

filter looks great inside and out.

Not a common size anymore. Tried one on my Mustang but there was something near the baseplate, wouldn’t go.

Did you change the filter spud threaded fitting? If not, the threads are wrong on the CQ ones you’re using (3/4-16), the Accord has M20-1.5 metric threads…

OP is most likely using this to filter the ATF in the vehicle. But this post makes sense under engine oil filters and that’s what it primarily is.

From OPs other posts… prob using an aftermarket filter plate plumbed in which has an SAE thread.

transmission filter. the oil filter is using a kia optima oil cooler pad plumbed to the throttle body heater lines with a OG wire backed Fram Titanium FS3593a

Yeah they know what they’re doing at PGI. I think this is a prime example of how they, as a manufacturer/producer, have decent manufacturing and QA policies and procedures.

Country of origin with the PGs shows to have little effect on the quality. Good on them.

they make a very fine filter. i do like the vietnam versions slightly more but the china variants are nice. i wish premium guard would build a version of the OG Ultra’s. the other filter manufacturers would go out of business lol
