CarQuest Premium 84502 Cut Open

I have for your amusement a Carquest Premium 84502 oil filter dissection. Filter was installed on my 2022 Jeep Gladiator 3.6L Pentastar using a Baxter Performance oil filter adapter. Filter was in service for a tick over 5K miles using Castrol Magnatec 5W-30 oil. Made in Vietnam and has all the trappings of a PG made filter. Has 55 pleats and is one of the best looking filters I have opened.

Nice filter! But wait! What is this Baxter Performance oil filter adapter??? I have a Gladiator as well and you caught my interest. I thought the only upgraded oil filter cooler assy was the aluminum Dorman.

Nice looking filter, and afaik currently best value in silicone adbv PGI made filters. This one made in Viet Nam.

it screws in where the oil filter would. wouldn’t reccomend one for anyone with the plastic oil cooler assembly.
