It shows "Leak Tested" on the top so good assumption would be PGI. Filter quality seemed real good. This filter was already on my 2017 Lincoln Navigator 3.5L when I bought it. Oil did have a stronger smell than usual compared to my other non turboed vehicles so maybe this engine is harder on it.

Replaced this filter with a Carquest Extended Performance $17.xx.

I'm glad you didn't buy another.... ;)
Nice pics
Never heard of this "CARLUBE" name but it sounds cheap (quick lube type). Good thing it was a PGI built filter.
I'll be using the Carquest Extended Performance going forward. (y)

You still need slapped for using it in the first place... 😆 🤣

Did you give the ADBV any love? I figure it was rubber. Wondering if it passed the squeeze test.
Welp, it's official. There was NO ADBV on this filter. Now to figure out if it was supposed to have one.

I do know the replacement Carquest EP does have an ADBV.

Was this filter a fail?

My wife went through the trash and she's very good at finding things. Even getting a new bag to put stuff in. Nothing

And to add after you asked me about it realized that I never removed one after cutting it open.

Here's how the filter sits horizontal (white).

Hmh. Not sure. I believe all the PGI 2500s I have all have ADBVs. I can look later. Just got a few Prontos in the mail.

The Service Pro that is similar I believe since it's for service shops shows it's supposed to have one.

"Molded nitrile anti-drainback valve to prevent dry"

This Service Pro Shows it has one. I'm going to look at COO on the can when I get back home. Will post back.

Car lube was popular here in Southern ca about 10 years ago. According to the salesman and his papers it was made by chevron and basically the same as chevron.. i had several cases of it as it did have the api ratings donut. It changed to CMJ oil soon after.

Quick look Google AI says FL 500S spec filter, silicone adbv. 'If' no adbv, then no bueno for Carlube filter. Surprising if no start up rattle noted, in my experience, especially on Fomoco vehicle. My speculation, China coo.

Thanks for c&p.

Yes that is correct. I didn't realize that it didn't have one as I was in Lesson class with my kids during the cut open experience. 😁

When @User_19876 asked about it I never remembered removing the ADBV. Disappointing for sure. It's pretty quiet on the inside while idling but never noticed anything off for a newly purchased vehicle but we've been using it daily. We'll all get to see the UOA hopefully by next week.

I tried digging in the garage trash but the wife cleaned out the Volvo and added to the pile. I need another bag to try to find it for COO.
