Care for New Leather

Most of the leather today is coated leather which means it's been treated with top coat so basically any good conditioner will do. Also I would not recommend Connolly Hide Food since it is intended for untreated leather. It is high in solvents so it will damaged the topcoat. If you don't want an OTC product then you should look into Zaino z10. It's highly recommended by car detailing enthusiasts and it is suppose to smell like real leather. But the woolite mixture I mentioned before is safe for any type of smooth leather.

I've just tried the Zaino cleaner (Z9) and conditioner (Z10).

My GTI's leather really smells like leather now.

Which is a bit odd, because it has NEVER smelled like leather, even the day I bought it.

At any rate, it looks great and I do like the smell.
