I know that oil selection varies from store to store, area to area based on how well it sells, etc., but one oil I have never seen recently on the shelves in Canada is Valvoline Durablend. I used to see it in major stores like C-T, W-M, but now none of them carry it, and no smaller shops either. I haven't seen a bottle of it in like 5 years, anywhere.

Of course, all these stores have TONS of Valvoline conventional, and Synpower. Anybody in Canada (Ontario) know where you can get Durablend, and if not, why not?

In your shoes, I would mix Synpower with the conventional and call it Durablend. But even better, use Maxlife.

Now your local NAPA store should be able to get the Durablend for you. And did you know Durablend is the only PCMO that comes in a 15w40 version?

i picked up my last 18 bottles at our local Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store about 3 months ago - they were on closeout there - and last time I was in, there were only a few bottles left...
TSC indicated that they were "discontinued" - and i thought that i read somewhere that Vavoline was ceasing production...i'll see if i can retrace where i read that.

Interesting stuff....I'm not 'desperate' to have Durablend, I'm just curious why it is so hard to find, that's all. I should maybe check NAPA closer, that's one store I don't spend a lot of time in - they're rare where I live, too!

:P

follow-up: a websearch of "valvoline durablend canada discontinue" recalls where i saw the ceasing production claim - at an online seller and a couple of other forums - certainly nothing definitive - but - can anyone confirm?
