Canadians equate Tim Horton's to the USPS motto "“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion"

Nothing like a hot cup of coffee and a fresh donut on a cold, snow packed Sunday morning.

For a trying to please everyone coffee, it is pretty darn good. Lots of notes for a nicely priced cup of Joe. Don't know if I would go through that though.

A bunch of time has passed since driving my '76 Chevy Nova around Nova Scotia but I do remember enjoying coffee at "the Tim Horton's".
Filling our thermos with hot water for my tea drinking traveling partner was no problem.
They were always so nice.
Now Tim owns Burger King.
...should the name be changed to Burger Prime Minister?

"Crystal", in Atlanta, was the only other place where 'ordering vocabulary' coaching was required.
It was also the very first restaurant where I saw TVs on the wall.

We had those in Maine but they pulled out. Used to sell soup in a bread bowl.

I don't like the earthy flavor of Tim Hortons coffee.
I lived in Buffalo(Hamburg) for 10 years. Never cared for it. Didn’t like their donuts either. But I tolerated if I had to because there was almost nowhere else to go. There was one Dunkin close by that I knew of and thought that was better. 10 mile commute I drove past 5 Tim Hortons. If I zigzag a little it was 7. Wegman’s way better, Tops OK too. Mighty Taco made Taco Bell taste authentic. Sorry to yuck your yumm. Wings and beef on weck were great. Miss the wings.

A stand alone doughnut shop on W14th St. (Manhattan) made their mark by buying the best of all ingredients.
This included their coffee, fillings and chocolate products.
They even kept 5 or 6 tastefully decorated cakes on hand.
There was constant foot traffic and a never ending flurry of taxis and police cars.
I never ever even thought about the name of the place.

Here is the ordering etiquette at Timmies. And always say please. 😀

dunno how much more of that "document" there is, but it's not showing the "secret menu" item of the "Gretzky" a 9x9, 9 cream, 9 sugar.
I always felt a little guilty ordering my usual XL Double Double ( I should really work on cutting back to just black coffee)... until i heard the guy behind me at the drive through getting a Med. 4x4.

also Tims doesn't own BK, nor does BK own Tims, they both were Purchased by the same company, "Restaurant Brands, Inc." which also owns Popeyes, iirc..

I'm not a coffee drinker, but Tims has nice chili and a pleasing selection of sandwiches on their menu. My wife likes her Tims large double double with small creme.

When the boys were young..under 5 years and mom need to sleep in after being up at night with them, I would grab them both, (sometime between 5 and 7am), load them into the minivan, grab a coffee and a couple of bagels at tims and we would go to the airport and watch planes take off and land so mom could sleep. Recall my order was a DD at that time. Now I have trouble finishing a medium regular (see above for description). Not sure it was a good idea. The younger one is working toward his commercial pilot license and being a pilot. Should have gone to the dump and watched the garbage trucks...

Not exactly. It's a publicly traded company, where the parent company has Tim Hortons and Burger King as independently run divisions.

In any case, Canada is a member of the Commonwealth and as such their head of state is the King. However, he did not accept the crown.

Apparently they don't understand what a regular coffee is Quebec City. At least not when I was there. Got a black coffee instead. Told the staff that they got my order wrong. Received a "lecture" from the manager so I don't order the wrong thing in the future...

Are Tim Hortons open 24 hours in Canada or did Covid change that ? In the US, at least not around here, they were never open 24 hours and many locations just didn't make it.... Even some of the ones that are still open, I look at their parking lots and wonder if they're still in business as there's no cars.

When our pair of beloved rescue dogs both did their "business", we referred to that as a "double double".

I walked 10 km earlier today in pretty terrible conditions (-29°C with a brisk crosswind). I stopped in at a Tim's downtown for a large tea with cream and sugar, and a 4-cheese bagel with cream cheese.

I was very glad to find a place open.
