Can you add a picture to youtube comments?

When I add a link to a photo in a comment, the whole comment seems to disappear a minute later. Is this something automatic? You can't post a picture in the comments?

No you can't.
I feel like Google would have gotten you an answer in a minute.
However, you can post an Imgur link or something similar.
But the channel owner can delete any comment they want to.

Youtube is all about pictures and video so it seems odd you can't post a link to a pic in the comment section. I understand not the pic itself, but a link.

You can link to another YouTube video. Directing people to sites other than YouTube is naturally frowned upon by YouTube.

Also as mrlawnguy said, any comment can be arbitrarily removed by the channel's owner.

OK but since it disappeared so quickly it must be something automatic. I doubt with hundreds of comments the owner happened to just notice this one, and it wasn't anything bad.

Yep, the machine in charge probably saw a link it didn't like and "POOF", your comment was smoked.
