Well one makes pressure and the other takes it away. I don't think I would use it in a compressor. BTW thx for the reminder as I should change the oil in my vacuum pump.
I would not because of different types of systems. Vacuum pumps are usually vane type pumps while the high pressure pumps are of the piston or diaphragm pump.
If you look at the SDS it says the Robinair oil is 100% CAS 64742-54-7 which is just mineral oil? What no rust or oxidation inhibitors? I think compressing air makes more heat so I would want to prevent oxidation. Both accumulate water so I would want some rust protection.

My refrigeration vac pump oil is ISO100 and my Recip air compressor oil is ISO100. Both are formulated to drop out water.
Not ideal, but then what would I know?
