I been driving for 36 years and this morning I had a roadside flat for the first time. Nothing like changing a flat at 3:00am on a bridge. These tires are a little less than 4 years old and only have 14,000 miles on them. Do you think this can be repaired or should I just replace it?

Even if the tire could be made to hold air, think if the amount of structure that has been compromised. The cords/wires that go across the tread in that section have likely all been cut.

I'd be curious about how much damage there was, if it was just a puncture and lots of damage to the tread--but very little into the carcass.

That said, water under the bridge now, now that you have new tires.
