Pretty simple question, i would really like to install a HR meter even if its under the hood, just so i know how long the engine has ran over a OCI.. How can i do this? I installed one a a craftsman tractor, just tapped the spark plug wire, and a hot i think, and it was done.. can i do the same with this 3.3L V6? thanks!,

as long as it's only an inductive wire tap and not a direct connection it may not throw a misfire code.

Many cars these days track the hours of operation. have you checked with a Scanguage or such?

I would think that tapping into ANY ignition-switched 12V supply would do the trick, assuming that you don't spend hours sitting with the ignition on and the engine not running.

If you really want to be able to leave the ignition on, use the fuel pump relay feed to the fuel pump as your source. The fuel pump on a Chrysler 3.3 shuts down if the PCM doesn't detect the engine running. Be SURE to use a very low-rated fuse right near your tap-in point so that your hour meter wiring doesn't become a failure point for blowing the fuel pump fuse! I personally would NOT tap into the control signal to the fuel pump relay since that is a PCM driver output. Yes, it should be fine, but no I don't want to risk anything blowing a PCM driver and making me buy a new PCM...

Depends on the type of hour meter. The cheapest and simplest to install simply count hours whenever they see a key-on voltage.
