Not in GM v8s. We ran them for years and literally a million miles cumulative, never had a problem.

But I have seen issues in certain platforms with them. So why go there at all now.

Check this engine for carbon. I'll bet you the head is severely carboned. You need to get rid of that first, then get your tune on!

The Buick 231 V6 in its 3800 Series I/II/III guises is one of those platforms where Bosch platinum plugs just don't work. I've used them with great results in other engines, but haven't seen a 3800 that will run well on them.

That's fine, I'm only familiar with them in GM v8's, a Neon R/T, and a few other cars. Never had a lick of trouble of any kind, even seemed to make that little Neon go better.

But due to all the hullaballo over them I have become an NGK guy for now. The fact that they started making the GM AC/Delco plugs for my trucks convinced me I like Iridiums the best!
