cam bearing wear

what is a safe time to run motor without oil pressure ? the motor has assembly lube in it at first ,we are doing a motor swap and didnt get oil pressure due to a plug missing in top of oil pan , anyway we fixed that and now we have have oil pressure at high RPM then drops on at idle , could we have cooked the cam bearing or something else , its a new motor rebuild 6.0 LS we did pack the oil pump ,,

How long was it run without oil pressure? If you used a good assembly lube you should be fine for a minute or so.

How long did you run it without oil pressure? What reading does it have at warm idle?
The main and rod bearings would usually go out long before the cam bearings.

It don't take long to wipe out bearings. I'd say 20-30 seconds max.

i think its a 06 or 07 6.0 , we never heard any noises, at all we did run it for a a good min or so each time , tiring to get it to pick up , after we giv up we took the short block to engine builders and they checked a main and rod bearing and said they look ok , they were the ones that found out we left the plug out of the oil pan , close to were the filters goes it was by passing there , here is a video - 3rd down i think
like i said we never got any at first we even went to a mach gauge to make sure ,its a new filter also ,i hope i answered , the engine shop did the short block , i am sure the use good lube when building i guess its gota come back out to check the cam bearings

What plug in the oil pan? The pan doesn't hold pressure, did you leave an oil galley plug out?
It sounds like there maybe another oil plug loose somewhere or a damaged o ring on the plunger.

there was a plug close to oil pan we left out causing it to by-pass , the front and back plugs are new we replaced them the first round , i say cam bearings ?

Run it for 100miles and cut open the oil filter. That should give you a clue how much if any extra damage has ben done.

Just keep it rev'd up real high all the time. Should have pressure then.
