California restaurants- never disappoint

Continued to be amazed by California restaurants-.tonight's meal in San Diego. Eating outside, perfect temperature and zero bugs.

Tonight's meal before tax and tip under $30 USD. But regardless of price, all fresh and absolutely delicious.

Shrimp aguachile with avocado, cilantro, and cucumbers, Sicilian olives (hot
. ). Wood fired pizza with real cheese and nice undercarriage.

Yes traffic is brutal here, and we know the intense California challenges for its residents, but wow the meals are always oh so good.

California is nothing special. Every town in the US has great restaurants.

Looks like a great meal at fair price. Californians are creative.

Lots of their recipies have strong west coast influences. Condiments, Ranch Dressing, sourdough bread, Mexican, Mediterranean dishes. However;

Food, Beach Boys, surf music and car culture aside, The Golden State shed its authentic glitter and became iron pyrite decades ago.

Pretty much every Monday I take my mom to have dinner with friends at Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn in Santa Ynez. It is reservation only in the dining room and the staff is amazing. My friend that we meet there also hosts our Friday BBQ, but keeps a standing reservation for his sanity. His son is 7 months old now and the staff all take turns gushing over him. The food is all made on site, the bread, the ice cream, the cookie in the ice cream. Is it cheap, nope not at all. I always get the burger with just lettuce and bacon, then take the bacon off and have it for desert. My mom started getting the half chicken salad. I think in the one pic she just got a burger patty with nothing else.

Give me the incredible Mexican and Japanese family style places in Silicon Valley. If you come here, try Mexico Lindo in the Cambrian area of San Ho and definitely go to Gombei in J-Town.
