CAF in need of replacement

Daughter going back to college in a couple weeks so went over her car . Changed the oil , check the fluids,added air in tires as needed full wash n wax. I had a extra cabin filter in the garage and changed it but was stunned when I pulled out the old. I'm trying to remember last time I changed it I'm thinking probably 2 years ago.

Where is she driving? That looks pretty darn bad if it's indeed 2years and Northeast. Wasn't far from you last few days at Baseball Heaven, Yapank. What a joy the LIE was Fri, Sat, and I'm sure in for a treat later tonight on the way back up north.

She goes up to school at Marist in Poughkeepsie but her boyfriend lives up in Greenwich CT so typical youngster driving all over the place. I made the mistake should of checked it much sooner not realizing she's piling up the miles. I hate to break your heart but your trip home tonight is going to be a challenge to say the least

Get her in the habit of changing it every year after pollen season. Wait a minute, I have a daughter. You keep doing it.

I just change ours every 20K. That's before we start to get symptoms.

Put a reminder in my phone calendar to change the cabin filter in one year. So this is the cabin filter after one year much better than the last change but definitely not great.

Not sure why you think it would look any better after 2 years. Guessing she keeps the hvac controls on full blast all the time and that is 700+ days of junk getting pushed into the cabin.

I changed the cabin filter on a 2008 corolla a few years ago. At the time it was the factory one sitting for 130k miles/ 12 years Green mold full of leaves and junk. Trust me your filter ain't to bad after 2 years.

Daughter complained her blower motor was going out again on her CR-V. I changed the filter and it was like mud. She asked me what I did and I showed her the filter. Easiest car filter I have ever changed.

Newer CR-V? I changed one on a 1st-gen, and it was beastly hard.

This was in a 2007 CR-V. Its like little drawer with a latch on each side. Drop the glove box and there it is.
