Well I have never changed one in any car I have owned until today. The Buick was kind of stinky with the vent or AC on.
Changed it out smell went away and here is what I found.

I think you can tell which one is the new one.

Amazing isn't it? Kind of like the filter in you furnace/A-C. I change ours every spring, the one in the car. Change it every 3-months in the house.

They do get nasty and depending on where one lives, sometimes fairly quickly. How long had you run that one?

What kills me is how expensive they are, for what they are.

What did we all do before these filters? I don't think it all went into the cabin. I just swapped a set out in an 01 Civic that was loaded with all kinds of junk. Did they put a finer mesh screen on the air intake in the old days?

I don't think we need high quality cabin filters, that why I bought TYC cabin filters for my cars from logical-source.com for about 1/3-1/4 the price at dealers.

I need to change cabin filters every 3-5 years, the cost per car is about $7-10.

Just got back from a ride. What a difference. I really didn't think it would matter, smells so "clean" now. It was worth the 13 bucks!

Yeah, if I purchased CAF's online, Logical-Source would be where I'd buy from. If you buy several or for several cars you can do better with the shipping charges. They are the best prices I've seen online.

However, when Advance Auto has a $10 off $25 coupon, cabin filters are a great item to use it on. Or one can use one the AAP online codes like BIG10 to get $10 off $25 and instore pickup. Also a Purolator BreatheEasy CAF's have $5 off rebate until the end of the month. That's how I bought my last CAF's.

Changed the original cabin filter on my Nissan this spring, it was even worse.. Totally nasty.. I put in a new enviro-guard filter and am breathing easy in the car now! haha
