Fram Titanium FS4967 off my 1996 John Deere LX188.
In service almost 18 months with T6 5w40.
Filter probably could have gone five years more by the looks of it.

Wix 57145 went back on with Total Quartz 9000 Energy 5w40

Looks like the old wire-backed version. See a date code on the side of the can?

Do we know if the wire backed titanium’s have ruffled leaf springs? Or, were they pre-FB?
Maybe @Bighorn2500 can post a few good shots of the leaf spring in this Titanium. Need to see the other side of the element to see if it has the leaf spring gasket in the end cap, and the date code would be helpful too.

Just the other day I cut open a Titanium 7317 and it didn't have the gasket either. However, the leaf spring was very smooth and it had a perfect fit in the end cap. Very tight. 2023 production I believe.

What I can see in the pics, looks good. Fwiw, I ran an OG Napa Gold/(Wix) 1348 on a Kohler (no) Courage engine for ~7 years 2/3 ocis, did c&p, looked fine. I'm think I will skip filter change with next JD B&S oil change. And it will still change 'significantly' more oil than with the JD "Easy Change" system filter.

Thanks for c&p.

^^^ Yep, date code makes it pretty old, so you're seeing an OG Titanium.
