Sorry to hear of your loss. We had a '70 Thunderbird....what a car! 429 with a 4 bbl carb...that thing would fly and the ride was amazing.

What a tank they were but man what a smooth ride. Growing up my parents had a 76 Lincoln. I was just a pup,3 or 4 maybe. Anyways I can remember dad pulling out 22 foot trailer with this car,bumper almost dragging but it would just eat up the road.
I'm not sure what it had for an engine. I'm going to guess either a 400 or a 460. And it needed that big an engine just to move it. The titanic on wheels. I remember dad saying a 10 speed could beat that car off the line but once it was on the highway there was no stopping it. The car ran smooth as silk at 100mph. It was so heavy there was no shake or vibration.
Those were the days.....sigh

I think you'll regret this decision. Those cars are becoming rare, and will be very collectible in short order.
You hardly ever see them up here anymore.....

There are times when I STILL miss my '90 Super Coupe 5 speed.
That thing handled amazingly for something that big and heavy on 225 section tires!! (Not to mention the phenomenal ride, as has been stated.)

well we kept it because of the MPG we needed from a 'spare' car!
AND the Tbird would have demanded a lot more to keep in good shape that it deserved! (than the Elantra) - as i said MANY times, it was a decision based on keeping the most economical car as a spare, not the 'best'/better car in other areas. I know the Tbird is the more 'unique'/exciting of the 2...of course it is. But I would've neglected it and not given the TLC it deserves - whereas the Elantra is just a beater and nothing else; demands less and easier to upkeep, and if it rots and go to the junk yard, I would get over it. I would NOT have gotten over it if it happened to the Tbird. (so, in a way, I gave the car I wanted to have a better life, away, because I knew I can't provide it)

Typically I did not even think of my prior vehicle once after getting the next vehicle. I feel a chapter is closed in my life and moving on. I have a hard time warming up to a new to me vehicle however never miss the old.

You kept the T-Bird up nicely- still a great looking car- & sounds like it has found another good home. You may miss it sometimes- but you shouldn't regret it.

When I traded the Ford Escort in on the '89 Olds Cutlass, no regrets whatsoever. When I traded that in on the '94 Olds, I did have some worries -- but it was about whether I could really afford the slightly newer car (I could), not about being attached to the older one.
I did hate losing the '86 MB 420SEL, but I didn't regret trading its successor, the W202 C-Class, for the Buick. Oh, sure, now and then I think nostalgically about my earlier cars, but by the time I've made the decision to trade-and-buy, I'm focused on the newer car.

When I was young my dad drove Oldsmobiles...big ones. I can remember someone asking him how the car was on gas..."Great" he said..."uses lots of it".
