BUZZ!!!!!

there is a buzzing noise when i am at about 2000 rpm when the engine has heated up.

i have narrowed the noise to the cat.converter heat shield. so i go under my car and checked, the upper heat shield on the cat is rusted and has about 4 holes, i called up for the price of the heat shield and they want 70 $ for it, im a college student and im low on cash right now.

would this work?
-big hose clamp to go around cat and heat shield to reduce rattle (buzz)

I would try an expoxy weld first.

Sounds like one of the spot welds broke.

Go to home depot (The Home Depot®) and get a few of the 4" hose clamps ..string together ..wrap around heat shield/cat ..tighten

How's that for cheap. It was the dealer fix for my brother in-law's bronco II years ago.

why cant i just use a big one? like 2 foot clamp.... nevermind
