I don't know why I never asked before, but this weekend, picking up some parts at the Buick dealer, it occurred to me to say, "Can you print out the options list for my car?" "Sure," the counter guy said, and trotted back in a moment with the original build list for my '03 Buick.

As you see, mine, though not the top-of-the-line Ultra, has nearly all the options of one, including the Gran Touring Suspension and Variable-Assist Steering. Essentially it's an Ultra without the cosmetic portholes and supercharger! I always knew you could retrieve such a sheet for even older Mercedes; years ago I called the 800 number, and they sent me the window sticker for my W126. Well, Buick doesn't have that -- I asked -- but they do have this.

Hey, that's really nice to know, helps when checking out a used car. Thanks for that, glad you got all the goodies in yours.

If you don't know the full history of the car, you can also have the dealer print out a history of all work done at the dealership on the car.

I'd always suspected it had the Gran Touring suspension. Whenever people here talked about how soft and sofa-like their parents' Park Avenue was, my first thought was, "But mine drives a lot like my old S-Class!" And the dealer's brochure for my model and year listed various options that could not be had on the base model, options my beast has.

They even misspell "gauge" as "gage" on this as well as in the owner's manual. Must have been a corporate decision of long ago.

I can do you one better...PM me your email and VIN and I will not only give you the options, but the history of the car's build right down to when major components were installed and scanned along with other data like warranty work and where the car was first sold etc.

I've done it for many fellow BITOG folks.

Question: Can you/would you be willing to do it for Sierra/Silverado pickups (2000 and 2004)?

Yep, it's a stylistic thing GM likes. 1980's GM service and owner's manuals spell it like that also. I don't know when it started.
