Had a Volvo 850 years ago. Loved that thing. Always had my eye on the XC70.

Sold my Suburban, and took the proceeds to buy a 2015 XC70 T6. Last year of the 3.0l Turbo inline for this model.

Has some deferred maintenance I am working through.
Replaced PCV catchment system, Replaced rotors/pads with Zimmermann rotors and Akebono pads
Replaced halogen headlights with Hikari LEDs (huge improvement in light output)

To Do
Replace dead windshield washer pump,
Insulate battery box and replace battery with H7 AGM
Replace O2 sensors
Drain and fill transmission a few times
Short OCI's for crankcase cleaning
Gear oil changes
Haldex AWD service (fluid exchange, screen clean)

Overall, this thing is great. Most comfortable seats I have ever owned!
This wagon is very quick, anf fun to drive.

I think yours may have the later Haldex which is easy to service and doesn't have a filter. Ours needs the exhaust, propshaft and input flange removed.

Wish we could find or justify the T6, but our D5 does the job quite nicely.

I bought it about 2 weeks ago.

I have been watching VolvoSweeden videos. They're great. Concise, and makes my job of maintaining easier.

Thanks for the Haldex info, I see several videos and some mention the screen, some mention the exhaust,,, thought I'd put it on ramps and open up that box of chocolates " you never know what your gonna get"

Bought it in Phoenix, checked codes before I bought it. All clear. 150 mile drive home, 2 days later I got the dreaded P0420. 2 runs of cataclean, no joy. Bought an upstream O2 sensor from FCP, hope to install this weekend.

Question. I have the OBD link BT /App scanner, which states O2 sensor reading not available. Downloaded another App, it shows voltage, downstream fluctuates .1-.7. Upstream shows "wideband" but always shows around 1.0v with minor fluctuations. Not sure the ELM can accurately read these sensors.
Do I have to have VIDA?

Just checked and yours will have generation 5 Haldex that just needs the fluid changing. It can be done with everything in place.

Don't know the answer to your second question but it's probably worth getting VIDA anyway. I managed to pick up a clone tool and a hard drive with VIDA preinstalled from a diagnostics company in the UK for £100.

Manually cleaned under the PCV catchment can (no after pics, sorry)

Running Valvoline R&P. I know it's not A5/B5, but hoping to clean a bit

It is missing the engine cover, and the belly pan? Whatever the under carriage plastic shield is under the engine.

Not sure the engine cover is a need, but I plan on getting the aluminum skid plate/lower cover over the plastic one.

Oh, and the overpriced windshield needs replaced. After I get that replaced, gonna add the windshield insurance. With calibration, it's about $800,,, ouch

Ours has a plastic undertray. Pretty sure the T6 has an engine cover too, our D5 does.

That's what I am finding, it once had the engine cover. I see the rubber grommet mounts where one should go.
Gonna visit the junk yard and see if I can find a cheap one. But unless there is a valid reason, I likely won't buy a new one.

Got the transmission drain/fill done this weekend. I did 2 spill n fills and the transmission shifts much better.

Was pretty easy. Didn't have to lift the vehicle. Although I don't fit under it, it was within arms reach. Will do it again before next summer.

Got the battery tray insulated. Temps in the box after driving, we're 120ish via IR thermometer, but would heatsoak after sitting i saw temps rise to 150-155.
More testing is needed, but fter I insulated it, and a spirited drive, I put my hand in the box and it was barely above ambient, same after 15 minute heatsoak. Will test with IR as time permits.

Tested for exhaust leaks using shop vav blowing in the tail pipe method and soapy water spray. None found but I couldn't get access to the exhaust manifold.

You're robbing a mouse of a home if you don't replace the engine cover, you rodentphobic rodentist! Rodents deserve equity and inclusion, too! And that rodent you're persecuting may not even identify as a rodent, but rather a Volvo electrical engineer who can fix wires with his teeth.

Geesh. Some people

2011 GT500
Performance Package
Red (Stripe Delete Option)
9,000 mi - $30,000.00

It's only 550 bhp, but it's the lightest year modern GT500 and handles way better than the iron block cars.It was absolutely unmolested and immaculate. I think he got a pretty good deal on his bucket list car.

Edit: Sorry, the title sent me off on a tangent.
