I’m not a country music fan, but I’ve heard of this place, and that it’s legendary in country music circles. Buck Owens built it as a “classy” place that he thought he would like to perform. Apparently he spent way too much money on it, starting construction and then having it reconstructed once he saw it and didn’t like it.
It’s apparently been a place where many top country acts have played. Garth Brooks proposed to Trisha Yearwood there.
It was placed for sale by the Buck Owens Foundation last year. It’s still for sale and could theoretically have a buyer willing to keep it as a venue, possibly under the same name with the permission of the foundation. But the foundation was struggling to keep it open.
