Thanks for posting the tip clutchless ... I have a 98 Civic which has chronically suffered from yellow headlights. I've used many other polishes/cleaners with minimal success. My most recent attempt was with Blue Majic Plastic Polish ... results were ok. I had resigned to going through an entire 10-step method that I found on autopia.com ... multiple steps of wet-sanding followed by 3-4 steps of plastic rubbing compound/cleaner/polish. Reported to take 2-3 hours per headlight, even with an orbital buffer. Well, I applied the Turtle Wax chrome polish, two steps as per your advice, and there was a noticable improvement ... yellowing had been eliminated. However, the polish is fairly abrasive and my headlight, though not yellow, now had a hazy appearance due to numerous mild scratches/swirls left by the chrome polish. So I applied a "extra-fine" cut rubbing compound, the type intended to be used as the last step in paint application, after wet-sanding with 2000 grit. All I can say is WOW! Headlights appear almost new, from a few feet away they look perfect. I thought for sure I'd have to wet-sand as I could feel pitting/raised bumps as I ran my hand over the headlights (before I polished) but the chrome polish smoothed out the plastic perfectly and the extra-fine rubbing compound completed the job--silky smooth now. Now to complete I need to track down some 303 to provide UV protection.
