hey fellas i bought a cheap mower with the bargain basement tecumseh engine last fall, it's probably the 128cc. now i used the sae30 oil in it for about an hour then i changed out to some left over mobil 1 10w30 all synthetic. i ran the mower for about two or three more hours and then drained it again and noticed the oil was a little bit grey from aluminum particles. is the engine still wearing in? i did try to vary the rpms from the governor while in use to ensure a decent break in. so i changed the oil a thrid time and the mower seems to run strong, for what it is. compression seems real good cuz it actually caught me off guard on the compression stroke while rip starting it. [censored] good compression! so i think i will keep changing the oil maybe one or two more times with some used mobil synthetic (
ps- i'd hate to see how many other small engines choke for hours on their own break in material and i know this happens with most people. gotta say these small engines are tough
