Was texting with an old co-worker that I became more of a buddy with since I left the job and asked me if I could help steer him in the direction of getting brakes done on his 2017 Rogue Sport. I know a few decent shops I could have referred him to but decided I would shop around for him and offer up my mechanical assistance. Was pleasantly surprised the 2017 Rogue Sport runs the same front and rear brakes as my Rogue. I am currently running the PowerStop KOE7035 kit, so I naturally recommended that but also stumbled across the TRQ and Detroit Axle kit I sort of would like him to try the TRQ or Detroit Axle as a guinea pig not that I don't have trust in the brands just would like to have options for myself to choose from and give their user feedback. I would have thought this smaller Rogue would have shared the Sentra chassis but it does have AWD so hopefully it does come apart the same in the rear as my Rogue which is a FWD. Anyone work on these AWD Rogue Sports is there any additional suspension links to navigate around for my Rogue works best to just pull the lower slide bolt and hinge the caliper up and work the slide pin out.

Does your Rogue have the EPB? Some of those require a special tool or something to rewind the calipers. It's not necessarily about AWD or FWD

The most important thing is to use coated rotors, and Powerstop coated rotors are the best. I don't think Detroit and TRQ rotors are coated.

No EPB on either vehicle. Power probe is a good work around the scan tool saga.

We're not in the rust belt I went with the standard carbon steel rotors being my vehicle has steel wheels and hubcaps I am not concerned about rotor look. He has alloys I can ask if he's concerned with rotor appearance most likely he's not he is far from a car guy. TRQ and Detroit axle do offer coated rotor options how they stack up against the PowerStop brand that I don't know.

Just throwing this out there but anything Detroit Axle is a hard pass for me. Chinese junk passing themselves off like American. If you have good reviews for the powerstops on your Roque and they are the same for your friends Rogue Sport why would you make him the tester for those other brands??? lol

TRQ I am familiar with as a brand just never used it personally but found no negative feedback from the web. Have you personally used Detroit Axle to condemn the brand? Many products come out of China including the Powerstop with that being said all three brands are manufactured in a ISO9002 Certified facility.
