Brake pad checking?

I recently saw a short video on how to check brake pad thickness without removing the wheels . I can't locate the vidio but, think it was on this forum. Anyone? Ed Hayes

I can eye ball them through the wheel

You can normally see the outer pad through the wheel.

Me too, and if I can't I use a small mirror.

If you have huge wheels or wheel offset or an open spoke wheel design that allows you to take a glimpse of the brake pads it's possible to check without removing the wheels. Not the case with my truck with 16" wheels.
