Brake light (dash) flashing

1991 Chevy 2500 auto,350. Brake light in the dash started flashing,it will flash 6 times then steady then flash 6 more times then steady, Does this all the time. Truck skips and looses power,any ideas? Thanks

Does this truck have ABS? It sounds like an ABS trouble code.

A rear wheel ABS equipped truck can do that when an ABS code is set as it did not yet have its own ABS indicator light.
