So the brakes were getting softer and softer, till the point the brake warning light came on. The vehicle had new parts installed in 07.
After inspection I discovered the front driver side caliper leaking fluid. I replaced the caliper, and bleeded the entire system.
The entire brake system was basically replaced 3 years ago. The rotors and pads are still as knew. The car sat alot and this may have contributed to the caliper failure.
I must say for a 35 year old vehicle I was impressed with the robustness of the brakes. Big dual piston calipers all the way around, it's actually better than my 96 Mustang GT with it's single piston setup.
I will add this car is a pain in the rear to bleed though. I'm sure a little investigating on my part, and me doing the work saved me a bundle...It's fun having a car again without all the computer gunk on it. Just straight forward mechanics.
