2000 F150 with abs.. anyone else figure out how to completely empty the brake reservior?? Mine has a float that blocks access to the last half the fluid. I'm through with Haynes manuals it seems with every version less and less info. I was going to try to figure it but my wallet started to crawl. Anybody with the know-how that would like to share?? Thanks, Eric

Be careful, if you get air in the lines through the master cylinder it will mean a trip to the dealer to bleed the brakes. If air gets into the hydraulic control unit for ABS and Traction Control the only way to get it out is to cycle the HCU during the bleeding process.

If you are just trying to fill the resevoir with fresh fluid before bleeding the lines, there are two bleeder screws on the engine side of the master cylinder just below the resevoir. Bleed the master cylinder first and that should allow you to get fresh fluid in there before going on to each wheel.
