I can't seem to find any info on what Bobcat hydraulic oil is. Bobcat seems to think that it should be Bobcat and nothing but. They do say that motor oil is an acceptable substitue but that doesn't make sense to me.

Does anyone have any insights into an acceptable substitute? Just looking for something that is a little bit more readily available.

Thanks

If your Bobcat hydraulic and transmission tank are the same, you can use Tractor Hydraulic oil. chevron's thf1000, mobil 424 amsoil tractor hydraulic oil

I have talked to the local service manger and he tells me that they have since removed that statement from the manual. Is was supposed to mean that if hydraulic oil wasn't available motor oil was acceptable for temporary use. It was being taken as motor oil is ok for use and people were leaving it in there. Hence they removed it from the manual.
