My local Canadian Tire carries both M1 OW40 and GC 0W30. The local WalMart also carries GC 0W30. Both are pretty standard oils for any Euro vehicles and unless in Sask. unobody is driving VW's, BMW's, Audi's, etc,etc I see no reason why they would not be carrying it.

M1 and Castrol seem to go on sale every few weeks. Look for the deals to bring the price down.

Yep, CT and WM will carry them. I live in the city now, but at one point, I was over 150 miles from the city. However, Imperial Oil distributors are everywhere and I'm sure they could help in that situation.

The car may be garaged at home, but at work it sits outside all day long. It doesn't take long for everything to cool off when it is below -40. I will have to look for that Esso XD-3 when it is closer to winter.

I have run both of those oils. I actually prefer the Castrol. The only problem is that the nearest store that stocks them is 100km away.
